In 2019 this page picked two world cruises: Silversea's 132-day "Tale of Tales" from San Francisco to London on Silver Whisper, from €53,000 a person, and Viking's 128 days from Miami to London, from €49,995. For 2027 and 2028 the choice from the American West Coast is wider.

Silversea: The Three Oceans

Silversea's 2027 world cruise sails on Silver Dawn, which carries 596 guests. It leaves Los Angeles on 8 January 2027 and ends in Copenhagen on 7 June 2027: 149 days, 80 ports, 35 countries. The route goes west across the Pacific to northern Australia, through Southeast Asia and Sri Lanka, across the Indian Ocean to South and West Africa, then up the Atlantic coast of Europe as far as the Norwegian fjords.

Silversea also sells it in ten legs of 11 to 22 days, for example Los Angeles to Tahiti (8 to 30 January), Singapore to the Seychelles, or Cape Town to Dakar.

Viking from Los Angeles

Viking's main World Cruise leaves from Fort Lauderdale and is on our Florida page. Two of its world voyages start in Los Angeles: World Voyage IV, 153 days to Stockholm through 37 countries, and World Discoveries, 125 days to London through 27 countries. In September 2026 Viking's site listed World Discoveries from US$59,999 a person.

Regent: Legends of the Pacific, 2028

Regent's 2028 world cruise leaves Los Angeles on 5 January 2028 on Seven Seas Splendor and takes 133 nights to reach San Francisco. It calls at 74 ports in Hawaii, the South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Alaska. Fares run from US$88,499 to $837,899 a person and include up to 409 shore excursions. It circles the Pacific rather than the planet.

Princess: round trip from Los Angeles

Coral Princess picks up passengers in Los Angeles on 21 January 2027 for two shorter versions of its Pacific world cruise: 114 days back to Los Angeles, or 110 days to Vancouver.

One way means a flight home

Apart from the Princess round trip, every one of these ends somewhere else: Copenhagen, Stockholm, London, San Francisco or Vancouver. Plan the flight home when you book the cruise. AirTreks can put the flight out and the flight home on one ticket.

Every other world cruise, from Florida, Southampton and Italy, is on our cruises around the world page. See also world cruises from Southampton and how to choose a world cruise.
