Cruises Around the World, 2027 and 2028

Circling the world on a cruise takes three to six months. In 2010 this page said three to four months and US$20,000 to $60,000, around $200 a day, all inclusive. The world cruises sailing in 2027 run from 98 nights (Fred. Olsen) to 180 days (Oceania). The cheapest inside cabins start at about £11,500 a person, and the top suite on Regent's 2027 world cruise costs $839,999 a person.
If you don't have that much time or money, it's possible to join most of these ships for just part of the way round. Costa sells a 100-day cruise from San Francisco back to Italy, and Regent sells the first 126 nights of its 2027 world cruise, from Miami to Rome.
There are more cruises around the world than escorted tours around the world by air. The appeal of cruises is precisely that everything is decided and arranged in advance, and you know many months ahead exactly where you'll be each day.
The world cruises for 2027 and 2028

What a night costs
Divide the lowest published fare by the number of nights and you get a rough daily rate. On the British lines it comes to about £120 a night in an inside cabin: Fred. Olsen's 98 nights from £11,499, Cunard's 109 nights on Queen Victoria from £12,870 and P&O's 106 nights on Arcadia from £12,911. Costa's 2028 world cruise, from €17,999 for 139 days, is about €130 a night.
The American luxury lines cost far more. Oceania's 2027 world cruise, from US$76,199 for 180 days, works out at about $425 a night, Viking's at about $465 and Regent's at about $655. Those fares cover more: Regent's is all-inclusive, Oceania adds a choice of free drinks or a shore excursion credit, and Viking includes 62 guided tours.
These are the lowest fares the lines published, or that the UK agent Iglu Cruise listed, when we checked in September 2026.
When to book
World cruises are often fully booked, so check availability a long time before departure. The lines put world cruises on sale 18 months to nearly three years ahead. Regent announced its January 2028 world cruise in April 2025. MSC opened sales for its January 2028 voyage in December 2025, and Holland America was taking priority requests for its January 2028 voyage in April 2026, before general sale.
World Cruise Central, one of the two sites this page recommended in 2010, is gone.
