New York, Lisbon, Rome, Dubai, Bangkok, Sydney, Fiji, Los Angeles and back to New York.
Gourmet travel: this world tour is designed for travellers who have an ardent interest in food and drink. Seeking new food experiences? This is the 'once in a lifetime' trip you must take!
In 2013 the ticket started at US$2,729. Fares have moved a long way since, and an AirTreks specialist will price your exact route and dates.
What to eat on the way
Lisbon. Pastéis de Belém has baked its custard tarts since 1837 from the recipe of the monks of the Jerónimos monastery next door. The recipe has never been published.
Rome. Learn the four Roman pastas (carbonara, cacio e pepe, amatriciana and gricia) and order them in a trattoria rather than anywhere with photos on the menu.
Dubai. Michelin's first guide in the Middle East came out here in June 2022, with 11 starred restaurants. One of them was Tasca, run by the Portuguese chef José Avillez.
Bangkok. The city is the reason to take this trip. Raan Jay Fai, a street kitchen cooking over charcoal, won a star in the first Michelin Guide Bangkok in 2017, for dishes like its crab omelette.
Sydney. The new Sydney Fish Market opened at Blackwattle Bay on 19 January 2026, with more than 40 food and retail businesses under one roof.
Fiji. Book a lovo, a feast of meat, fish and vegetables wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in an earth oven, and try kokoda, raw fish marinated in coconut cream and lime.
Los Angeles. Grand Central Market downtown has fed the city since 1917 and has more than 40 vendors today.
